On Tuesday, August 16, 2011, the Galesburg Education Association sponsored a Welcome Back Pizza Party. U.S. Representative Bobby Schilling was on hand to discuss issues. All GEA teachers, PreK-12 and Knox Warren Special Education teachers had the opportunity to discuss educational matters such as No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and education funding concerns. A new waivers system for NCLB is in response to the unrealistic expectation that 100% of a school district’s students meet or exceed testing standards by 2012.
